From the map you can see that we are close to Xin Sheng Road which is a four lane highway with 2 lanes in each direction. We're up on the 13th floor so the noise isn't too bad. Actually it's about the same as in our noisy Fremont neighborhood in Seattle.

This past Saturday morning it was a little noisier than usual with a lot of human voices, I thought is was a sporting event at the local middle school but it turned out to be a cycling event "One Bike One" celebrating the last day of the first century of the Republic of China. Throughout the Island of Taiwan there were more than 70,000 cyclists marking the date.

For the event in Taipei, they closed down the northbound lanes on XinSheng Road.

It was a family event.

And there was even some tandem bikes, like mine and Florence's.

The organizer's plan was to get more than the current Guinness World record, which they did with 72,919 official participants.
